Taiwan’s military says it maintains a zero-tolerance policy on bullying after new evidence emerged in the suspected suicide of an army officer. The officer died after falling from a building on a military base in September. Taiwan’s defense ministry initially avoided questions about whether bullying contributed to her death. Public scrutiny intensified after a recording surfaced in which a colleague appeared to repeatedly berate the officer. The military has now referred the case to prosecutors for review as investigators examine whether bullying played a role in the officer’s death.
