February Sees Lowest Chinese Military Activity Around Taiwan in Recent Years
Last month saw the lowest number of Chinese military aircraft and naval vessels detected around Taiwan in recent years. Research compiled by a Pacific Forum fellow found that aircraft activity in February fell to less than half that of the same month last year. And Taiwan reported 183 naval ships, the lowest count since early 2024. There were also 11 days last month with no Chinese aircraft detected.
