Taiwan Stocks Break New Record

On Tuesday, Taiwan's main stock index, the Taiex, hit an intraday high of over 48,600 points in morning trading, breaking a previous record set in June. This comes on the back of a Monday rally on Wall Street for AI-related stocks, which also pushed the NASDAQ to a record close. Top movers on Taiwan’s index included MediaTek, ASE and Hsin Hua Technology.

Taiwan’s stock market reached a record close on Tuesday.

The benchmark Taiex closed at an all-time high of 47,800 points, after touching an intraday peak.

This comes on the back of a Monday rally on Wall Street for AI-related stocks, which also pushed the NASDAQ to a record close. Top movers on Taiwan’s index included MediaTek, ASE, and Hsin Hua Technology.

Driven by semiconductors, the weighted index reached an intraday high of 48,601 points, breaking the previous record of several hundred points. Star performers of the day have included MediaTek and ASE Technology, which helped lead the charge past the 48,000 mark.
