Jolin Tsai Wins At Golden Melody Awards

Jolin Tsai won Best Female Mandarin Singer for the second time at the 37th Golden Melody Awards, while her album Pleasure also won Album of the Year. Ayal Komod took home three major honors — Best Male Mandarin Singer, Best Mandarin Album and Best Composer. Winners in the Taiwanese, Hakka and Indigenous language categories were also recognized.

Taiwanese pop-star Jolin Tsai won Best Female Mandarin Singer at the 37th Golden Melody Awards on Saturday in Taipei.

This is Tsai’s second time winning the award. Her album Pleasure, inspired by the seven deadly sins, also won Album of the Year.
Mandopop veteran Ayal Komod took home Best Mandarin Album, Best Male Singer, and Best Composer.
The awards also honor artists performing in Taiwanese, Hakka, and Indigenous languages, with Suming Rupi and Outlet Drift winning Best Male Singer and Best Album in Indigenous languages.
The Golden Melody Awards are considered Mandopop’s most prestigious annual awards.
