Public Broadcaster TBS Celebrates 20th Anniversary With Open House
Taiwan Broadcasting System is celebrating its 20th anniversary by welcoming members of the public into its studios for the weekend to experience anchoring a news bulletin and take photos with props and costumes from popular TV dramas. TBS oversees several public television networks including PTS, Hakka TV and TaiwanPlus.

Taiwan Broadcasting System, or TBS, is holding a two-day open house to mark the 20th anniversary of the public broadcaster’s founding.
Hu Yuan-hui (CHAIR, PUBLIC TELEVISION SERVICE FOUNDATION):
The theme of our event is “Because of you, we are here.”
It’s because of all our fellow citizens that TBS exists.
This is our deeply held belief.
So based on this belief
we want to invite our true owners
to visit our workplace and take a look.

Families crowded the Public Television Service headquarters in Taipei, where the open house is being held. Inside the studios, visitors experienced what it’s like to work in public media, including anchoring a news show on a real set. They also took pictures with costumes and props from popular TV dramas.
TBS operates several public television networks including TaiwanPlus, producing dramas, news and children’s shows in Mandarin, Taiwanese Taigi, Hakka and English.
