Family Matters: “Ina’s” Wild Vegetable Restoration Plan Ep6
Cheng Hui-mei, an indigenous Amis, has been a social worker for some twenty years, but it wasn’t until she had children and asked to be transferred to serve in her own village that she had the chance to really learn her own culture. Seeing the high nutritional and economic values in wild vegetables unique to indigenous territories, she embarked on an ambitious project to grow these vegetables and earned the trust of the “Ina” – respected elderly Amis women – along the way.
