Wael and Jyana are originally from Syria but now call Taiwan home. On this episode of “Cultural Crossings,” host Helen spends time getting to know these two business people who are working to bridge communities and cultures. This time our host Helen spends time getting to know a couple who are very active in their communities in Taiwan. Wael set up the Arab Taiwan Chamber of Commerce, working to bridge the gap between Taiwan and 22 countries in the Arab world. Helen discovers that he originally moved to Taiwan for love, his wife Jyana studied in Taiwan and has also set up the Women in Logistics organization to help promote and support the women working in her field. Helen gets to know these two go-getting individuals and more about their life in Taiwan through experiencing activities they participate in from cultural events to speaking at universities and even their leisure activities of barbequing.
