The battle continues in the Seqalu nation along the treacherous cliffs and waves and threatens to intensify when troops of the Qing government face the indigenous people. The indigenous warriors entrench the Qing army on the mountain walls as they prepare for an attack. The more well-armed Isa people then clash with Tokitok and his daughter, Umi, who steps in and tries to play the role of mediator between her people and other local indigenous and Han communities as they continue to clash.
