Prof. Cheung Chan Fai is a retired professor from the Department of Philosophy at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. In July 2020, when he was traveling in the United Kingdom, he decided to settle there. Leaving Hong Kong and the Chinese University, where he had lived for forty years, was not an easy decision despite his deep attachment. However, compared to what he perceived as the white terror that had befallen Hong Kong, it was not a difficult choice. In 2023, he was also invited to Tsinghua University in Taiwan to serve as a visiting professor for one semester. During his time there, he also lamented that Taiwan in 1984 was relatively backward in various aspects compared to Hong Kong.
