Missy Hyper, a post-mature student from #HongKong, has been a Rainbow Ambassador of the "Hong Kong Pride Parade," advocating for the #lgbtq community. In 2019, Hong Kong saw a series of democratic social movements, where she witnessed the oppression of democratic values and the imprisonment of friends due to political factors. Driven by a longing for freedom, she made the decision to move to #Taiwan with her family, embarking on a new chapter of her life in her fifties while staying true to her original aspirations. ————————————————————————————— "After That: Hongkongers in Taiwan" 【This is what happens to me AFTER THAT...】 July 1st, 2023 marks the third year since the enactment of National Security Law in Hong Kong, as well the day Anti-Espionage Law Amendment in China takes effect. From 2014 to 2019, democratic wildfire sprawled across Hong Kong in the form of various protests, yet was eventually snuffed out by Chinese apparatuses, leaving repercussions on local political geography. Through stories of Hong Kongers in Taiwan, this documentary series examines the ramifications of aforementioned events and explores the new lives Hong Kongers found in their new home.
