Qaruwai is a Paiwan native from Majia, Pingtung. She is an expert in making “Yue-Tao-Bian,” a weaving technique using shell ginger. Qaruwai picked up sewing naturally, growing up with her mother, a skilled weaver. Combining plane weaving and Japanese Boro style techniques, she has designed products with unique energy and strength.
