India's first privately built orbital rocket, Vikram-1, has made history. The rocket launched from a site in southern India on Saturday, carrying satellites and scientific experiments into space.

The seven-story Vikram-1 rocket lifted off on Saturday, reaching Low Earth Orbit in 16 minutes. The vessel carried several customer satellites and scientific experiments. Launched by Skyroot Aerospace, the mission is a test for future commercial launches. It comes after the US’s SpaceX failed to launch its massive Starship rocket on Thursday due to engine failure.
