Lin Jui-che (TAIWANESE PILOT):
Seeing my homeland from above was incredibly moving.
Finally having the chance to fly a small plane back to Taiwan by myself felt surreal.
I even got goosebumps.
Lin Jui-che departed from Los Angeles on June 5, with stopovers in Alaska and Japan's Hokkaido, before arriving at Taipei’s Songshan Airport on Friday. He says the most difficult part was crossing remote ocean routes, where temperatures fell sharply, and emergency landing options were limited. Lin plans to fly onwards to Southeast Asia in the coming days, as he attempts to become the first Taiwanese pilot to complete a solo flight around the world.
