Taiwan Welcomes Thousands for Rotary's Largest Annual Gathering
More than 37,000 Rotary members from over 140 countries are gathering in Taipei for the Rotary International Convention. Speaking at the event, Taiwan President Lai Ching-te said the convention underscores Taiwan's growing role as a destination for major international gatherings.

The Rotary Convention is bringing more than 37,000 worldwide members together in Taipei. President Lai Ching-te says the event highlights Taiwan's growing role as a hub for global gatherings.

Taipei is hosting this convention for the first time in 32 years.
Rotary members from over 140 countries are joining us today
make it a truly momentous occasion.
Held in a different city each year, Rotary's international convention serves as a way for members to connect.
Taiwan has one of the world's highest Rotary membership rates, with around 40,000 people across nearly 1,200 clubs. Rotary says its members here support projects ranging from education in rural schools to programs for senior citizens. The Rotary International Convention in Taipei runs through June 17.
