Taiwan-US Trade Deal Set To Be Signed As Early as Mid-February

According to Deputy Legislative Speaker Johnny Chiang, a major trade and investment deal between Taiwan and the United States could be signed as early as mid-February 2026. The agreement reportedly lowers US tariffs on Taiwanese imports to 15% and provides exemptions from Section 232 national security tariffs. In return, Taiwan has committed to facilitating US$500 billion in investment and financing for the US semiconductor industry.
