Taiwan Avoids U.S. Currency Manipulator Label, Remains on Watch List

The U.S. Treasury Department has once again placed Taiwan on its currency manipulator “monitoring list” but stopped short of labeling the country as one. As Taiwan negotiates a trade deal with Washington, local exporters remain anxious about currency spikes and potential tariffs. Electronics giant Pegatron says it is preparing by building a new U.S. plant to mitigate future trade risks.
