Taipei 101 National Day Drone and Fireworks Show

REPORTER:
Taipei 101, Taiwan’s tallest building, will celebrate the country’s national day with fireworks and a record 600 drones.

The show is scheduled to last 14 minutes and will honor the country’s police force. Taipei 101’s chair says preparation for this year’s show, themed “Onward Taiwan,” has been extra challenging because a new building has gone up near the tower.

Janet Chia (CHAIR, TAIPEI 101):
We couldn’t just copy what we did last year.
All our experience, traffic control plans
and drone planning had to be reworked from scratch.
Everything had to be completely redesigned
because the drones are taking off

from a different location
and the show itself is being staged

in a different area.
The stage, the viewing areas
and the best viewing angles are all different.

REPORTER:
The show starts at 10 p.m. on October 10th.
