Coast Guard Chases Off Intruding Chinese Ships Near Kinmen
The coast guard has chased off four Chinese vessels intruding in Taiwan's restricted waters near the Kinmen Islands after a standoff lasting several hours.

Taiwan’s coast guard has warned off four Chinese coast guard ships intruding in restricted waters near the Kinmen Islands.

Wednesday morning’s intrusion came as the coast guard was preparing for Typhoon Bavi, expected to reach Taiwan around Saturday. Four Taiwan coast guard ships monitored the ships and broadcast warning messages until the Chinese ships left about three hours later.
