Taiwan's security officials say they have detected a record number of Chinese ships operating throughout Asian waters.

Taiwan officials say a record number of ships have been detected operating throughout the First Island Chain.

 

National Security Council Secretary General Joseph Wu said on X that Taiwan has detected 110 ships in waters around Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, and the Philippines – more than what has been observed before. He said that these actions reflect expansionist ambitions. Massive coast guard patrols are being conducted that Taipei has condemned.
