Taiwan’s Asia Pride Games Face Scrutiny After Surge in Chinese Applicants
Taiwan's southern city of Kaohsiung is set to host the Asia Pride Games, an annual LGBTQ+ sporting event, but this year's competition has drawn controversy. Organizers said more than 800 applicants from China signed up this year, far higher than in previous years, but none have been approved to participate. Officials identified issues with some applications, including alleged links to the Chinese military and the use of AI-generated materials.
