US-Iran Clashes Leave Taiwan Vessels Stuck in Key Shipping Route
Taiwan is scrambling to assist eight ships owned by its companies that are stranded in the Strait of Hormuz, as fighting between the United States and Iran disrupts one of the world’s most critical energy routes. Around 1,600 vessels have been unable to pass through the waterway since February, when conflict escalated following US and Israeli airstrikes on Iran.
