Taiwan's stock market recorded its biggest-ever intraday drop following steep losses on Wall Street in the wake of the US midterm elections, as growing opposition to AI data center projects rattled investors. The benchmark Taiex plunged more than 3,700 points, or nearly 9%, before recovering some of its losses to close down 4.5%. Premier Cho Jung-tai has instructed financial regulators to prepare measures to stabilize the market as authorities continue to monitor the situation.
