Inflation in Taiwan remained above the central bank's 2% target for a sixth consecutive month in October. The consumer price index rose 2.33% from a year earlier, slightly lower than September's rate as price increases for fresh produce and other goods remained stable. However, Taiwan's import price index for tech manufacturing jumped 33% year on year amid continued growth in the technology sector. Officials say inflation is expected to ease further in November but is likely to remain above the central bank's target level.
