Taiwan’s two major refineries are both lowering prices, by three US cents per liter for regular gas and by two cents per liter for diesel. The decrease comes during a drop in global oil prices, as tankers are once again transiting through the Strait of Hormuz and the US and Iran work toward a peace deal.
But the situation remains fragile, with tit-for-tat strikes and an attack on a freighter last week keeping markets on edge. Still, a US official said Monday that both sides are set to stop attacks.

Taiwan Refiners Drop Oil Prices
REPORTER:
Major Taiwanese refiners CPC Corp. and FPCC are both lowering oil prices as of Monday.
That’s with shipping the Strait of the Hormuz still largely returning to normal as Iran and the US keep working towards a lasting peace deal. Both companies are bringing wholesale gas prices down to three US cents per liter and wholesale diesel prices down to two US cents per liter. The US-Iran peace process remains shaky, though, with tit-for-tat strikes and incidents like an attack on a freighter last Wednesday worrying markets. Though global oil prices rose overall Monday, a US official has said that Iran and the US are set to stop attacks.
