Taiwan Expects Strong 2026 Exports, US Trade Surplus Amid AI Boom
Taiwan expects exports to exceed US$783 billion in 2026, driven by AI demand, with the trade surplus with the US projected to top US$200 billion. Deputy economy minister Ho Chin-tsang made those predictions at a forum featuring Economics Nobel Prize winner Peter Howitt, who stressed the importance of cooperation between government, business, and academia to economic growth.
