Pacific Prosperity Exhibit Showcases Taiwan’s Regional Cooperation

Ahead of the Pacific Islands Forum’s annual summit, Palauan President Surangel Whipps Jr. attended the opening of an exhibit in Palau highlighting Taiwan's cooperation and development projects in the region.

This exhibit showcases, most importantly, the incredible work of our partners, the United States, Japan, Australia, Taiwan, along with regional and international partners have helped us in really helping all Pacific islands, including Palau, move toward a more prosperous and resilient future.

Taiwan’s foreign minister Lin Chia-lung, who is leading a delegation to forum events, also attended the opening ceremony. Representatives from the US, Japan, Australia and India were also present.
The Belias Dancers from Palau’s Airai state welcomed guests with a performance, before Taiwan’s NaLuWan Dance Troupe took to the stage. Called the Pacific Prosperity Exhibit, it features an interactive touchscreen where visitors can summon the collective power of Pacific Island nations, symbolized by a digital shark. It also includes displays on how Taiwan shares its expertise in tech, agriculture and climate resilience with its Pacific partners. The exhibit is open to the public until September 6th.

A group of Palauan performers welcomed the guests with a dance, before Taiwan’s NaLuWan Dance Troupe from Pingtung took the stage. Called the Pacific Prosperity Exhibit, its centerpiece is an interactive touchscreen where viewers can feel the interconnected power of Pacific Island nations by putting their hands on the display and summoning a digital shark. It also includes displays on how Taiwan shares its tech, agricultural and climate resilience knowledge with the Pacific. It is open to the public until September 6th.
