President Lai Ching-te met with a delegation of Canadian opposition lawmakers to talk about increased exchanges and security challenges. The meeting comes after two lawmakers from Canada's ruling Liberal Party suddenly dropped out of the delegation after Prime Minister Mark Carney announced plans to visit Beijing the same week.
