Taiwan Selects ‘A Foggy Tale’ as Best International Feature Oscar Entry

Taiwan's culture ministry has selected director Chen Yu-hsun's "A Foggy Tale" to represent the country in the Best International Feature Film category at the 99th Academy Awards. Set during the White Terror period, the drama was chosen for its portrayal of everyday people living under intense political repression. The film won Best Picture and Best Screenplay at last year's Golden Horse Awards.

Taiwan's culture ministry named director Chen Yu-hsun's drama on Tuesday. It will compete for Best International Feature Film at the 99th Academy Awards. The ministry said it chose A Foggy Tale for its portrayal of everyday people during a period of intense political repression.
