Saving the Fireflies: Taiwan Conservationists Focus on Light Pollution

Taiwan is home to 65 species of firefly, more than almost every other country in the world. But it also has one of the densest human populations on earth. At night, that generates a lot of light, which can disrupt fireflies’ natural behaviors. Now, the Toucheng Leisure Farm in the northeastern county of Yilan is trying to help save these endearing insects.
