As global tensions rise, countries in the Pacific find themselves caught between the United States and China. However, Taiwan and its Pacific Island allies are working to define their relationship beyond power struggles, instead showing what happens when countries work together to fight climate change, protect food sources and open new economic investment lines. In this episode of Zoom In Zoom Out, reporter Cadence Quaranta sits down with Anjanette Kattil, the Marshallese ambassador to Taiwan and dean of the Pacific Taiwan Ambassadors Group, and David Adams Orrukem, Palau’s ambassador to Taiwan, with additional insight from Lily Tangisia Faavae, Tuvalu’s ambassador to Taiwan.
