Two Years Later, Taiwan's East Coast Recovering From Magnitude 7 Quake

In the early hours of April 3, 2024, a magnitude 7 earthquake struck off Hualien County on Taiwan's east coast. The subsequent landslides and aftershocks killed 19 people; one person was never found. The area’s mountainous landscape was left permanently changed, and the once-popular Taroko Gorge may take years to fully repair. Now, two years after the quake, reporter Tiffany Wong returns to Hualien to find out how recovery efforts are going, and how the earthquake has reshaped the lives of Hualien residents.
