Shih Chien University is known for teaching students modern design and architecture; it’s also home to a traditional Paiwan Slate House that was originally built in southern Taiwan’s Pingtung County. In this episode of Zoom In Zoom Out, the professors, students, and craftsmen join us to reflect on what this tradition means for them and how architecture from the past can impact our understanding of modern architecture today.
