Game On Taiwan - Taiwan’s Captains
With the nation behind them, Taiwan’s athletes keep pushing forward. This week on Game On Taiwan, we look at national team leadership through three captains. We begin with footballer Chen Po-liang. With 97 caps and more than a decade setting the standard in Taiwan’s midfield, Chen has long called for better youth development and training facilities. In Baseball, we follow captain Chen Chieh-hsien, who led a historic Premier12 run -- showing how leadership in baseball is often quiet until the right moment forces it into view. In basketball, we focus on Liu Cheng and Chen Ying-chun, two leaders who steady Taiwan in different ways — one setting the defensive tone and accountability — the other controlling pace and decision making when games get tough. Finally we end in Taichung, where strength athletes pushed their limits in front of screaming fans over two days of competition.
