Huaisu's famous calligraphy work entitled "Autobiography" is considered by many to be his resume, complete with comments from his contemporaries praising his calligraphy. His brushstrokes filled with emotion — a "wild cursive" — are compared to natural phenomena such as a windstorm or a snake. Most Tang dynasty-era works now only survive as rubbings from stone engravings, making this work quite unique.
