For years, schools in Taiwan have tiptoed around the topic of the 228 Incident. The massacre, and the decades of violence and oppression that followed, were often reduced to just a few paragraphs in textbooks. But one social studies teacher at a primary school in New Taipei City is looking to shed the taboo.
