Shaïn Boumedine on Culture Shock & Fond Memories of Taiwan Ep2
Taipei Tonight host Dennis Nieh (聶雲) chats to French actor Shaïn Boumedine about culture shock and memories of shooting “For My Country” in Taiwan. Award-nominated film “For My Country” is a drama based on director Rachid Hami’s own personal experience. An Algerian family’s move to France turns to tragedy when younger brother Aïssa (Shaïn Boumedine) dies during a military hazing initiation. His older brother Ismaël (Karim Leklou) finds himself fighting for justice for his brother, while flashbacks show key moments from their childhood in Algeria, and from their time as adults in Taiwan.
