Get to know everything Keelung has to offer in this installment of Whirlwind Trip. This time Kevin takes us on a non-stop trip to the port city of Keelung, a vibrant city on the northernmost tip of Taiwan. As the second-largest seaport (after Kaohsiung), fishing, boating, shipping, and everything related to the sea are intertwined in this city’s unique identity. Rich in history and culture, Keelung also has a wealth of exciting and unique experiences for foodies and outdoor enthusiasts. Kevin’s trip begins in the bustling early morning fish market, where he soaks up the atmosphere and tastes some local delicacies. The next stop is a stunning sunrise at Alabao Bay, where he checks out the geological formations and swims in the ocean pool at Heping Island Geopark. Along the way, Kevin enjoys some of the local flavors unique to Keelung. Next on the agenda is a restorative hike along the beautiful Malingkeng River, followed by sunset and fishing on a boat. To finish, Kevin shows us his favorite snacks to check out in the historic Miaokou night market. From Keelung’s early morning fish markets, temples, night markets, landscapes, and sea-faring way of life there’s truly something for everyone to enjoy. It’s time to jump aboard as we set sail for a whirlwind trip to Keelung.
