Happy hour features the top 5 unique craft beers from Taiwan! Ariel and Nicole are headed to a brewery, fishing harbor and pier to try some local favorites! Our journey begins at the Taiwan Head Brewers Brewery for a comprehensive tour of the entire brewing process. Ariel chose the Lou-Shen Roselle Sour Ale for its sour flavor and sweet finish. Nicole enjoyed a Danli Lychee Cider made with dry hops that capture the distinct fruity aroma of Taiwan’s tropical fruit. Next were specialty beers made with local agricultural products sourced from Keelung Zhenbing Fishing Harbor. Keelung Craft Beer Seaweed Ale is nice and light on a sunny afternoon. This ale doesn’t have a strong seaweed taste but rather a subtle salty flavor that goes great with fresh seafood. Keelung Craft Beer Cinnamon has a honey sweet aftertaste that complements the wheat flavor of the beer. We finish up at the Dadaocheng Wharf just off Dihua Street. The area is easily accessible from the city center and incorporates shipping containers as a main design element to create a romantic and exotic feeling. The glow of sunset between 5-7PM is the perfect time to try a wide variety of drinks at affordable prices. Pouchong Tea Pilsener is a great option if you’re looking for something new. The slight bitterness combined with a hint of floral aroma is the perfect night cap!
