Garden91 is a 1980 square meter utopian paradise on Yangmingshan’s Yangde Boulevard. This museum was established in 2012 and is split into indoor and outdoor spaces that are extremely popular with visitors. The owner, Lin Shung-wen, is an avid art collector with a passion for stone sculptures and carvings that led to the founding of this museum. The museum is the first institution to blend architecture and design in an effort to create a better tomorrow by combining future and city. The first floor hosts various public installations. The second floor is a private showcase of Contemporary art, urban architecture and the future. WhiteStone Gallery aims to create an art space for the people of Taiwan. The original 1967 gallery first launched in Ginza, Tokyo. They soon found their niche thanks to their forward thinking. The Neihu branch established in 2017 now hopes to bring uniquely Taiwanese elements to the larger art world. These exhibitions by Japanese contemporary artists change once every two months. Be sure to visit regularly to get the most out of this gallery. Shung Ye Muesuem has served as a living record of historical events in Taiwan since 1947. The museum opened to the public in 2020 to honor the legacy of the historic Beimen District both in terms of architecture and geographical location. The permanent collection showcases various historical Taiwanese art scenes in the place where many of these events took place. An impressive display of Indigenous cultural relics also features prominently at this new location. Juming Museum is the namesake of a very influential Taiwanese artist, Ju Ming, who got his start in NY in the 1980s before taking Taiwanese art to the global stage. The sculptor himself designed the building at Jinshan in northern Taiwan. Remember to visit The Taichi Plaza, an outdoor sculpture park displaying his highly influential Taichi series. The sculptures are all about the duality of nature, action and reaction, especially the idea of stillness within movement or movement within stillness.
