Although still in his teens, Chef Kao Hsing leads a group of middle school students to give back to society by cooking for the elderly. Kao goes out of his way to ensure that the volunteers bring smiles to the faces of the elderly by cooking the dishes of their choice. He even learns Hakka to communicate in Taiwan’s most Hakka populated county. Kao’s team also organizes delivery trips to those who live alone in the high mountains. These students say seeing the smiles and tears of joy as the elderly eat is all worth the effort.
