Part of a series created by the National Palace Museum about the development of Taiwan, this documentary follows Liu Yunke, the governor of Fujian and Zhejiang, and his emissaries who made their first visit from China to what is now Taiwan in 1847. The film tells a story about land, ethnicity, and policies enacted in the Sun Moon Lake area during the middle of the Qing Dynasty.
