Sweden, Finland to Apply for NATO Membership

Sweden and Finland have confirmed they will apply for NATO membership in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. It’s a historic shift for the two Nordic countries which have a history of neutrality. And it’s another challenge for Moscow, which views NATO as a security threat and has said it invaded Ukraine to prevent an expansion of the security alliance.
