Taiwan Raises Minimum Wage Record Amount

Taiwan will raise the monthly minimum wage by nearly 5% to about US$970 from January 2027, marking the 11th consecutive annual increase. While labor groups say the rise is barely acceptable, workers in traditional manufacturing and service sectors continue to face stagnant wages and rising costs. Industry leaders are also calling for measures to ensure the benefits of Taiwan’s AI-driven economic growth reach more workers.
