County Culls 60,000 Hens To Halt H5N1 Spread

Authorities in Changhua County in central Taiwan have culled more than 60,000 egg-laying hens after a farm tested positive on March 18 for a variant of the H5N1 avian influenza. Last year the county was hit with nine such outbreaks, resulting in the culling of around 400,000 birds.
