Hualien Plans Taiwan's First Flying Fox Sanctuary
Hualien County in eastern Taiwan hopes to open the country’s first conservation area for the Ryukyu flying fox. The fruit bat species is listed as vulnerable by the IUCN and only 200 are believed to remain in Taiwan.
