Six years ago, Henry and Elaine Tong joined protests in Hong Kong to push back against a proposed extradition law and increasing police brutality. A few months later, the couple had married and were fighting against prosecutors in court. Facing threats of violence and a looming National Security Law, just a year after protests began, they found themselves self-exiled in Taiwan.
