This interview was recorded on November 20, 2024. The world’s largest climate conference this year, COP29, just concluded. Their ultimate goal was to agree on how climate action plans around the world will be funded. Who will be paying for the climate crisis, and by how much? On this episode of Zoom In Zoom Out, TaiwanPlus reporter Wesley Lewis speaks to Professor Fan Chien-te, who was on the ground in Baku, Azerbaijan with Taiwan’s unofficial delegation. Fan is a law professor at Taiwan's National Tsing Hua University, and has been attending COP for over 20 years. We first zoom in on Fan's earlier observations of the conference while it was still happening, then zoom out to analyze how effective this conference will be at saving the planet’s future.
