A new documentary series called "BPM Ecstasy" traces the techno scenes in post-pandemic Taipei and Beijing, following the connections and exchanges between emerging DJs and musicians across the strait. On this episode of Zoom In Zoom Out, we speak to the series' director Olivier Richard. We first zoom out on the history of techno music before zooming in on what Olivier heard on the ground (and sometimes under it) in Taipei and Beijing.
