TSMC Sets the Pace with US$40B Expansion Plan
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, or TSMC, is set for semiconductor supremacy after it announced a US$40 billion expansion plan for 2022. The Hsinchu-based company is already making the bulk of its cash from advanced chips, where it has a near technological monopoly. And if its expansion plans come to fruition, its position could get even stronger. James Chater reports.
