Liu Yamm-ming, often considered the father of wildlife filmmaking in Taiwan, made it his life's mission to document the country’s diverse and fascinating wildlife for future generations. A mission much like that of Robert Swinhoe, the 19th-century British diplomat who became one of the first scientists to catalog Taiwan’s endemic species.
